A whole new world

Let's Get Rich

Exciting and new, I had a job interview today! Contacted Explorius the other day, the organisation that I went to Utah, US with a few years ago for my awesome exchange year at Hurricane High School, and the wanted to meet me and talk. So I went to their office today and met with Lina who I remember from back when I was nervous and getting ready for the adventure of a lifetime. It was so nice to catch up and reconnect with all that excitement and anticipation.

So what I'm hoping is that I end up with another part time job, and one that sure seems fun and inspiring to me. As a representative of Explorius it is one's job to spread the word, so to speak. With everything from spreading information on paper to facebook to interviewing future exchange students! I am so thrilled and I figured I might as well start out right away. I do after all keep a blog in English where I (if you go back a few years among the posts) wrote all about my experiences during MY exchange year, and even though every exchange year is unique, I might as well spread the information here as anywhere else.

Check out the website. If as little as one person clicks this link and finds information they are interested in, this post was not for nothing. All I can say is that my judgement is only clouded by how insanely awesome my exchange year was and how badly I want the same for everyone I know.

I know right? The pic could be from a catalogue for exchange students. One of the best days of my life.

And Soso (i know you're one of the few people who actually always reads my blog and I love you for it) these songs are growing on me and I can only say "Thank you all-mighty, all-knowing Soso" ;)

You show the lights

So, I ended up actually making my own lemon flavored New York Cheesecake! It turned out great :D Above is the result ;)

I had some with my wonderful girl friends Pauline and Louise, as we had girls night together Friday. Then shared a bite with Trevor and later on my mom, sister and aunt came by to try it too! I'm saving this one in my book of yummy stuff to bake, for sure!

Good old Graduation....

Narrowmindedness...

Death by Cheesecake

Went on a sweet date with my love yesterday, and ended up on T.G.I. Friday's. Never actually eaten there before so it was a nice surprise to find that their menu is very close to the american restaurant "Chili's"...! Nice to know. Ended the dinner with a massive slice of New York Cheesecake that was yum-yummy :D

I'm totally going to learn to make this type of cheesecake now!

Get funky, get funky

These past few weeks have been busy. Though I didn't start school again like everybody else, I've still worked a few extra days at ICA, and both weekends have been occupied with stuff for Funkykidz. Saturday the 18th I worked on a Funkykidz Event all afternoon, as well as driving around the purple Funky-van throughout town, delivering material to the Events, and picking it up later that evening. Last Saturday I had a workshop all day where we worked on the dances for the coming semester, and got off to a great start through the usual kick-off. We also got jackets, shirts and pants that match, a whole outfit to wear when we work for Funkykidz and during out classes. I'm excited to teach again, even if it makes me nervous too. What if I can't memorize the dances in time, or what if I forget something crucial for the first class...
I'm sure I'll be fine. After all - I've done it a few times before...

Other than that, life is settling into some slow pace that is both nice and boring. Some days when I sit around the apartment mostly, I feel like I'd rather do anything than that. Even school sounds exciting. Then some times I realise that school was boring too sometimes and that it's habits that are boring. Life is fun, as long as you dare take on new things. Therefore, I am trying to use this extra time that I have to do things that I've never had time for. But at the moment I am - like I said - only focused on learning the moves before I have my first class on Sunday.

Time to make dinner. It's getting cold outside now, fall's coming quickly. Looking back I miss summer :)

And she will be loved

Cheesy as ever possible, this old song is stuck in my head right now and I smile. Though I am back to work and summer is close to over, I smile, because I am lucky and happy =D

You and me at the arctic circle

Back from summer vacation now, and what a summer it's been! Road trip, sleeping on ice and sailing.

Trevor and I drove through the entire country in two days, to get to Kiruna up north. We hiked the swedish mountains, including hiking by the tallest mountain in the country! It was really cool, but the mosquitoes like the scene too so we had to share our space with them, sadly.
Then, we had reservations at the world famous IceHotel in Jokkasjärvi! We had ice cream served on ice blocks, drank out of glasses made of ice, and hung out in a freezer all evening. Then - we slept in a room made of ice, where the bed was on an ice swan, by an ice pond with ice swans. It was all very adorable.
Our room was called "Swan me up" and was designed by AnnaSofia Maag.
All in all, it was a great vacation and I had tons of fun. The IceHotel is very much recommended by me, everyone should go see it. Tours are available and it is definately worth it. It was quite the experience.

Clouds are shrouding us in moments unforgettable

It's been two weeks in the new apartment and time has passed really quickly. Had a birthday/move in dinner for Solveig and Max, and have had most of my family over to check it out. I can't believe the luck; a big apartment with three rooms plus a big entry, a nice kitchen, a big balcony, and still on the island. Just amazing.

Besides working for the past few weeks almost every day, I have figured out the area and where the best grocery stores are etc. Suddenly I can take the bus places, which is an option I haven't had before since I've lived along the train only. And a week from now I go on three weeks of vacation from work to go sailing and maybe up north to hike with Trevor. We'll see, because the best part of vacation is not knowing what's coming and taking every day one at a time. Like, tomorrow Elsa is coming over for breakfast, out of the blue. So nice.

There haven't been many visitors yet, just family and my grandma and aunt stopped by which was very nice. Also, Solveig and Max ofc, and Louise has been here a few times. And Laura came by the other day with biscuits, and I ran into Sebastian today who promised to come by. Pauline and Benjamin also came over on Pauline's birthday for a nice lunch. It's so much fun to to cook and bake for visitors so I'd like some more of those =D

Tomorrow is another day

Thanks for today, alarm set for 5 and a half hours, yay work in the morning, wohoo for moving out tomorrow, and now... sleep. over and out.
The flower we have (strangely and I don't know how) managed to not only keep alive but actually bloom and thrive and enjoy life.. and the strawberries we had the other day :) Summer feeling! :D Though these are store bought ones, and our own strawberries only barely started to turn red yesterday so mom and I had a few of them. Delicious!

Wouldn't it be nice

Moving out in just a few days! Insane xD

Americans migrate

Yay for all the americans I manage to drag across the Atlantic to come visit Sweden. I know I alone might not be the reason, but I know several of you wouldn't have come here if it hadn't been for me.
Thanks for the visit Stevie, Tammy and Krystal!!!
Thank you Trevor for moving here to be with me. You are amazing <3
And thank you Solveig. It sucks that you can't be here this summer and I really wish you would go with my idea for next year and just stick around for me to be with, but more than anything I hope you know how much I will miss you once you leave. This year better go by quickly or you better stay, cause I can't be without you for too long, we both know that ;)

Baby whatcha say we go pickin' wildflowers?

Happy Midsummer!

Cause I've GRADUATED

A picture can say more than a thousand words. Watch this small selection of photos from my big day.
Thank you a million times everyone who took pictures and made this day last forever.
These specific ones are by Elsa :)

Let you blow my mind

Thanks for today Soso. Nice seeing you again and woowh to the hair! Nice :D

And did you know I held a speech to you in school yesterday? It was an assignment but I'm gonna have to hold it for you some time because it made me smile :)
And THAT (above) is an OLD picture of us heheh

You think that you know me, know me

So, my bf started a new job yesterday. Now I sit here bored because he is working for another 2 hours so I don't know what to do. So I am going to do one of those games that are for bored people late at night.

Things you didn't know about me:
1. I cry during almost every movie I watch, but I've gotten really good at hiding it. The Fox and the Hound makes me sob if I even think of it.
2. I used to love tuna, but then I saw this movie in school about how they fish for tuna, and I decided to not like it anymore. Now I don't dare try it again.
3. In 3rd grade I told a friend I was allergic to tomatoes because I didn't like them. She then told her mom, who felt bad for me since I was then surely also allergic to strawberries. Fail on my part.
4. I cried the day I started 5th grade because I didn't get a letter to Hogwarts (who didn't tho??)
5. I can never drink twice from the same side of the glass, so I have to turn it slightly every time I drink.
6. In elementary school I used to dress in one color every day. Whole outfit was in a synchronized color, down to the socks and shoes.
7. I took jujitsu classes for a year and I thought I would be able to defeat most of my friends after that. Me ego got to me and now I can't even told back my 3-year-old niece.
8. In middle school I could never eat a sandwich unless I first ate the edges all the way around it.
9. I didn't get asked to the Homecoming dance in High school and still I had the best time in forever with my girlies.
10. I randomly get inspiration and cut my hair. That way I get to be creative, instead of a hair dresser having all the fun.
11. My biggest fear is being lonely. If I have nothing to do and no one to talk to, I feel so lost.
12. At my parents' wedding I walked up to the front and ate the decorative flowers while the priest was talking. It was my first birthday and no body paid any attention to me, what was I supposed to do??
13. When really sad things happen I hide out, eat chocolate ice cream and watch Legally Blonde three times in a row. Just like I'm in a chick flick movie.
14. I fear foods I haven't tried and say I don't like them before I even tried. Then I always have to take it back because I like almost everything.
15. If you want me to do something for you - the puppy eyes ALWAYS work.
Hope you learned something new! And if not... what creepy stalker are you really? :P

Excitement

Just thought I'd update a little.. What's exciting?
1. I graduate in less than two weeks!!!
2. It's been sunny for a whole week!
3. American friends are arriving in little over one week!
4. Solveig's off to see her far off relatives in Sweden this weekend, excited to hear about that tuesday!
5. It's Erik's 19th birthday! Congraaaaatzzz!!! If you're nice there might be cake ;)
6. Trevor starts his new job tomorrow. Full time :P
7. I got a new bikini!
8. We got a new flower for our windowsill.
Lovehugzz :D

Let's play dressup

Went to a fun graduation party last night. Wasn't much at first, but I think we got the dance floor going pretty well and I ended up having a blast. Best of all - it was a masquerade :D
Thanks Louise, Axel and Gustav for a great time :)
